How much fun can you have in a few days in MI?

Fun in the sun, it's what you do when you're on vacation and it's HOT!

The living statue at Art In The Park, MI

He would move only when money was placed in his bowl on the ground, even if he had a hold of your hat or glasses.

The girls loved it!

Thanks grandma and grandpa for a wonderful time!

New Little One

Here she is! When she wakes up, and stretches, and opens those little eyes, I say "Good morning Little One!" She loves it when I gently rub her dark hair, and I love when she turns her head towards me. She already knows my voice, my smell, my touch, and it's amazing!

Easter Times

I truly have a blessed life.
Easter was a day of excitement, that was well balanced between Easter bunny surprises, new dresses and hats, and by remembering the true meaning of Easter. The night before, I read the New Testament Stories version to the girls, so it was still fresh in our minds on Sunday.

Oh, and I love it when I find great deals on clearance clothes! Especially when my hands are too swollen to sew.

More hair change

Changes in hair have been happening around here. I've taken an interest in the girls hair. Getting four little, active girls' hair brushed everyday is a struggle, but also fun.

My new hair; easier to take care of. I like that. Simple.

Just a little side pony can make a big difference in being able to see for basketball! D loves it playing, just look at that face!

Nice hair

J did it! She wanted to donate her hair, and now was the time!

I love it, not only because she looks SO CUTE, but it's much, much easier to brush out the knots!

I want to be nice

I ran to answer the phone this afternoon and my 3-year-old who was happily playing, immediately went into one of her screaming temper-tantrums. I was upset because I couldn't hear my husband on the phone and she kept following me around. After a quick, "I can't hear you, I'll have to call you back in a bit", I placed her on her bed until she calmed down and could talk to me. I asked what was wrong, and she said "I wanted to get the phone!" I told her, I'm sorry, you know only Mommy and Daddy answer the phone. She said "No! I wanted to get it and give it to you!"
We've had many of these type of conversations in the past few months, and she summed it up best of all when she told me, "I just want to be nice!"

I'm grateful for a great kid!

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas!

...The tree, the nativity, the...wait, no presents yet! Don't worry, they were just hiding from the Roomba that day.

Snowed In

When my PM kindergartner's bus was running late, I panicked and called the school. They told me to be patient, it's probably just the weather slowing them down. I knew I couldn't drive her because our van can't make it up the driveway yet, through all the snow, even though it's been plowed, it's still too slippery. Also, school was delayed 2 hours to start with, which means no AM K, and the bus she takes is a mini bus that mostly drops off the AM kids and then picks up mine after wards. I thought they might have missed her. Luckily, they were patient with me and called the bus company, then called me back to assure me they were coming. Sure enough, it came, 20 minutes late. Later, inside, my hands and face were burning as they thawed to room temperature. I wonder how my little one was, if she was burning inside that warm bus riding to school. Oh well, she didn't want to miss today, it's her last day before the holiday, and she missed 4 days last week from being sick and then a snow day.

My 2nd grader volunteered me to plan a craft for their holiday party tomorrow. I finally found one simple enough that she liked, and now I have to go shopping for the supplies. Since I'm snowed in at the moment, I"ll have to wait until my husband comes home from work so I can take the truck, and it's 4 wheel drive engine! Some day, when I don't have lots of kids in tow, I'm going to buy me a jeep!
